Although the sun is beginning to set a little earlier each day, students everywhere are headed back to school, and Labor Day — the unofficial “end of the season” — is less than three weeks away, it’s still officially summer until September 22, and the summer fun isn’t over yet.
In the floral industry, summer brings some of the most fun events and occasions, and colors and styles of the year, including weddings, parties and galas, plus tropical flowers and greenery, bright colors and plenty of sizzling hot touches for the brightest time of the year.
You could say we have endless summer here in Florida, as after all, our beaches, tourist attractions and outdoor activities are popular nearly year-round here in the Sunshine State. However, in other parts of the country though, there are seasons other than “summer” and “gets cold a few days a week” every like we see here in Florida — and time is running out to enjoy summer!
Fear not, though, as it’s still August, and it’s not too late! Here at Albin’s, in Florida, we love to spread the sunshine around whenever we can, and thanks to the work of many of our awesome “Albin’s Family” members out there, it’s made so easy when we get to see all of the beautiful summer-inspired designs that they create.
Within these designs during the summer, and all year long, the Daisy is one of our favorite flowers, as they always look outstanding paired with a variety of fresh greenery. The variety of bright colors they come in, plus their vibrant petals make them a popular favorite flower, and HOT 🔥 for summer designs.
It’s time for some Daisy daze! This week on the blog, take a peek at a few of our favorite designs from the summer, centered around some beautiful Daisies of all sizes and colors. 🌼
In the summer and beyond, designs don’t have to be intricate to be special, and sometimes, just one flower, and one type of greenery make the perfect touch.
Offered earlier this month by In Bloom Florist here in Florida, these bright and vibrant mixed bouquets only needed two ingredients to make them POP — bright Daisies, and crisp Leatherleaf!
Check out those fresh fronds paired with those beautiful blooms, that’s all that was needed for a perfect pick-me-up design to start of the weekend.
(And flower lovers, how cute are those shoes!?)
Flowers: Gerbera Daisies
If you could guess what two of our favorites are from reading this, would you say Daisies and Leatherleaf? That would be correct, and here’s another set of designs with two of our favorites!
Shared with us by the ladies of Sweetly Gathered, a floral shop in Kentucky, these sets of designs put the spotlight on Daisies and Leatherleaf, along with other flowers and greenery, to make them extra-special.
Within these three mixes, yellow and red Gerbera Daisies, plus other flowers such as Goldenrod, Chrysanthemums, and Alstroemeria, sit amongst beds of fresh Leatherleaf and filler flowers, for some exquisite everyday designs, that we guarantee put a smile on someone’s face!
Flowers: Gerbera Daisies, Chrysanthemums, Goldenrod, Alstroemeria, Stock, Carnations and Others
Greenery: Leatherleaf, Beargrass
Is Leatherleaf not your style, or perhaps you’re into something a little more trendy for greenery? No problem, there’s plenty of daisy-dazed designs to go around.
This “peachy keen” design, featuring a stunning Gerbera Daisy, surrounded by a multitude of other flowers and greenery, arranged by the folks at Palmer Flowers in Colorado, might be your style!
The Gerbera Daisy, plus some lighter, smaller Daisies and other flowers, that are surrounded by fresh Baby Blue Eucalyptus and Salal leaves, make this design fabulous for summer.
Plus it probably smells delightful, too!
Our final design in this week’s blog is truly Daisy dazed — check out all those colors!
Designed and shared with us by the Knapp Flower Shop in Texas, this bright and boisterous wrap brings together plenty of summer-inspired flowers and greenery for a beautiful bouquet.
Centered around one of our favorites, two vibrant Gerbera Daisies, plus some lush magenta Roses, surrounded by filler flowers, and some great greenery, including Variegated Aspidistra, Sword Fern and of course, a touch of Leatherleaf, this bouquet would brighten anyone’s day!
No vase needed here! Check out the double-layering of the paper as well, as a nice final touch.
Well, we have reached the end of our Daisy-dazed blog, but we know that there’s plenty of beauty out there in the floral industry, all summer long. Do you have a favorite Daisy-filled design? Show it to us in a comment below!
