Friday Funday – Tropical Wedding Favorites

In Florida and beyond, summer is always chock full of fun!

From playing on the beach or lounging at the pool, to sporting events, family camping trips, visiting theme parks and all types of fun under the sun, summertime is always a fun time.

Amongst everyone’s summer fun, we can’t forget that summer is always the most popular time of the year for weddings, and with all of the experiences out there available to celebrate the HOTTEST time of the year, it’s easy to see why.

After all, who wouldn’t love an intimate poolside ceremony, sunset beach wedding or ceremony and reception inside of a tropical garden or waterside grotto? Countless couples out there do, venues such as beaches, pool decks and lush tropical paradises make beautiful settings for a variety of weddings, in the summertime and beyond.

Summer might bring some very warm days and rainy nights, but here at Albin’s, as folks that call the Sunshine State “home,” we love all things summer and tropical, including tropical flowers and our tropical-inspired foliages!

Our tropical greens — from cool fronds of Robellini, Sago Palm and Sword Fern — to exotic favorites like Monstera, Xanadu and Aralia — are some of our favorite products that we offer, and each year, we love to see the beautiful designs that are made with them, especially in wedding season.

In this week’s blog in the heat of summer, read below as we showcase a few of our favorite tropical wedding designs from so far this year! 🌺

This summer, no matter where they choose to tie the knot, every bride needs a beautiful bouquet, and this tropical bouquet bliss is one not to miss.

Shared with us by FiftyFlowers, an online flower retailer based out of Idaho, the tropical flowers and greenery in this bouquet bring out the best in this bride, with some of our favorites for both.

Fluffy pink-hued Peonies and Roses are arranged around a large vibrant Protea, but beyond the bride, we think the star here is the fresh tropical greenery, including two Monstera leaves, Aspidistra and fronds of Robellini that steal the show.

Oh, and did you catch the mini Pineapple at the top to finish it off!? How fun!

Flowers: Peonies, Roses, Protea
Greenery: Robellini, Monstera, Aspidistra (Green)

On to the ceremony, and whether beachside, gardenside or inside, like this one, a tropical-inspired backdrop is a must-have for a fun one!

We love her love of greenery and foliage, and we love this simple and elegant backdrop for a mansion wedding, designed by Brooke Raulerson, AIFD of Revelation Design, a floral studio here in Florida.

Its ingredient list may be short, to include fresh Phalaenopsis Orchids, Monstera leaves and some stems of fragrant Nagi hiding in between, but whether it was used for the ceremony, photos, decor or just as ambience, it’s pretty gorgeous.

Flowers: Orchids
Greenery: Monstera, Nagi

While warm, bright colors will always be in for summer weddings, today, there’s just something magical about green as a wedding color — and it’s not just because of the greenery.

By Brandi Charlot of Blucid Floral, a flower bar and designer for special events in Louisiana, there’s definitely love in the air at the cocktail hour and reception of this wedding, with plenty of shades of green and these designs!

They say greenery is the new flower, and in these designs, it’s true, almost — as we can’t forget all of those green Hydrangeas — with the countless stems of Monstera leaves, Robellini and other palms, Italian Ruscus and Salal leaves that make it loveable.

A “cool” way to bring in some “hot” tropical touches to an event that’s inside!

Though, bright colored flowers look amazing with lush green greenery, but, can green flowers look the same with some…bright colored… greenery?

Yup, and it goes both ways in these designs, by the folks at The Blooming Idea, a florist in Texas. They were tasked with flowering a fun tropical luau party, and we’d say that they delivered, with these fantastic centerpieces and backdrops!

A mixture of blooms, such as tropical Birds of Paradise, Orchids and Anthuriums, pair well with the assorted tropical greenery found amongst these designs, including Monstera, Sword Fern and Aralia to finish off our showcase of fun tropical wedding designs!

Swipe through both posts above to see them all.
